Lucian Wine Bar

On a busy corner of Buckhead sits a little restaurant whose owners share an equal love of books and bordeaux. Since it opened in 2021, reviewers at Bon Appetit, The New York Times, and Atlanta Magazine have described Lucian as “delicate,” “perfect,” and “impeccable.”

Attention to detail is everything here. So when it came to furnishing their small space, we didn’t want to waste an inch. For the focal point of the restaurant, we crafted custom arched bookcases to literally shine a spotlight on the owners’ curated collection of art and design books. Framing the books is a flat-finish Walnut, its grain exposed for honesty and texture. We mirrored the bookcases’ arches throughout the space, in everything from the curves of the host stand to rounded banquette shelves. But it’s not all wood; we got to flex our skills with stone and upholstery too. Note the rounded corners of the marble table tops and the warm veining of the stone. We wanted to underscore the food with that just-so balance between refined and relaxed, adding a brass band to each table for a touch of mid-century shine. Then we outfitted the seats of the banquettes with a smooth burgundy leather that continues the flow of the deep purple walls.

It all makes you wonder if you’ve wandered into a library or a wine barrel. Either way, why not order another glass?
